What a Yes protects. What a No puts at risk.
Operating referendum dollars pay for the people and services that run a school day to day — not buildings. Here's what that looks like in practice. This referendum is about instruction NOT construction.
HOW THE NEW FUNDING WOULD BE USED
$5.5 M -- Retain and attract highly qualified educators: Stop the talent leak with competitive pay and benefits
$2.5 M -- Opening new schools: To accommodate 2.6% growth since 2025, and more ahead
$2.43 M -- School safety: A trained school resource officer in every school, every day
$2.0 M -- Counselors and student supports: To address a student-to-support ratio of about 600:1
$1.6 M -- Rebuild reserves: Restoring the district’s financial safety net
TOTAL PLANNED INVESTMENT
$14 M
IF THE REFERENDUM DOES NOT PASS
Larger class sizes and more students per adult
Fewer SROs and reduced school safety and student supports
Hiring and salary freezes for all staff, leaving WWS more vulnerable to talent loss
Reduced busing, including possible no-busing zones
Educators asked to do more with less
Inability for WWS to rebuild responsible financial reserves
